Our Story

The Copper Kettle Restaurant was founded by the Jim Dorsey family. Jim founded "Ole Whiskers Catfish" in 1992 in Mesquite, Texas and over the years expanded to Rowlett, Greenville, Duncanville, Irving, Dallas and Plano.  In 2009 Jim started JD's Kabobs and in 2011 purchased the "Generator Coffee House and Bakery" in historic downtown Garland.

Now the Dorsey family has opened the Copper Kettle to get back to the original catfish with all the "fixins" and added a few family favorites.  Rhonda, Jim's wife, loves to create new dishes and desserts and hope you will enjoy some favorites like her "Copper Catfish". Rosemary Wine Chicken and Bolillo Boats.  When asked why the French Coconut pie or Cocoa Buttermilk cake is so good, she just replies... "I added alot of love".

The Jim Dorsey family has always served high quality food with sincere appreciation to each guest.

Our friendly and attentive staff is looking forward to serving you.
